SSAT
The Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) is a standardized test that evaluates students’ verbal, math, and reading skills. It is developed, administered, and scored by the nonprofit Enrollment Management Association (EMA). The SSAT is widely used by independent school admission officers to assess the academic abilities of applicants from diverse backgrounds. It provides an equitable and standardized way to compare students fairly, regardless of prior schooling or experience.
SSAT has three test levels based on the student’s current grade:
-
Elementary Level: For students currently in Grades 3–4, applying for admission to Grades 4–5.
-
Middle Level: For students in Grades 5–7, applying for Grades 6–8.
-
Upper Level: For students in Grades 8–11, applying for Grades 9 through Post-Graduate (PG).
